You know those people in your life that not only inspire you, they ignite you to take action?
They’re the ones on your trusted council because they always share the honest truth, straight up, no bullshit. The confidant that you can turn to for everything from business strategy to creating better boundaries. Well loves, for me that’s Sophie Lippert.
Classical pianist, piano teacher, founder of Connections Concert Series, and former owner of a yoga & wellness collective.
I invited Sophie on the podcast because she has so much wisdom to share from her diverse business experience. From leaping into a six-year lease on a yoga & wellness space in her early twenties — what she calls her business degree — to rising up as a nationally celebrated concert pianist.
This winding journey stems from a deep cultivation of listening in and allowing her business to authentically unfold — the thread of connection always being at the heart of her work.
I had so many ‘goose bump’ (or what I call truth bumps) moments in this conversation, and I hope you will too.
IN THIS EPISODE, WE COVER :
Shifting the value away from perfection to connection
Creating our own “templates” for business & life
The difference between a visionary & actualizer
The transformative power of listening — to ourselves, our bodies & our businesses
Releasing our ego & agenda, so our business can truly unfold
An essential ingredient to success
Creating pleasure in our business
MEET SOPHIE LIPPERT :
“It’s more worth it to follow my passion than to be perfect”
Sophie Lippert is a classical pianist, piano teacher, and founder of Connections Concert Series.
Her business journey began with running a yoga & wellness collective for six years called Vibrant Studios, before being guided back to her deep love of music. Since then, she’s rapidly gained critical acclaim as a concert pianist: she toured a solo piano recital program around the country; made her first symphonic appearance in a decade with the Seattle Philharmonic; performed at two sold-out TEDxPortland events; and most recently received a standing ovation for her riveting rendition of Rhapsody in Blue with the Olympia Symphony, in February 2020.
Sophie’s most recent project is Connections Concert Series, an innovative multi-genre concert experience featuring Portland's finest classical, jazz, world, and folk musicians. Connections is committed to a mission of “harnessing music as a conduit for connection and community, embracing diversity and inclusivity, and using an artistic platform to create a more vibrant and loving world.”
Sophie is passionate about helping people feel more connected — to themselves, their purpose, their communities, and their spirituality.
